About

Alex Monk has been involved in the Arboricultural industry since 1991.

Alex began his career training at Merrist Wood College in 1991 and completed the National Certificate in Arboriculture in 1992. A brief spell in the west country as a free-lance tree surgeon lead him to further training at Merrist Wood, this time in the skills of Countryside Management obtaining a useful qualification in this subject.

Alex then struck out as an independent tree surgeon running a small successful business from the heart of Hampshire for 10 years. In order to improve the long term prospects, Alex joined one of the leading tree consultancy practices in the country in 2004. As a surveyor and trainee consultant Alex soon rose to become a full time consultant within the company with a considerable client base to his name. As part of professional continuous development, Alex trained and gained the qualification of the Technicians Certificate in Arboriculture in 2007. Duties within the company included pre-planning work for developers, Tree Preservation Order legislation work, Tree inspection including decay detection with sophisticated decay detection equipment and general health and safety tree work. In 2012 Alex became a free-lance consultant and now provides his services to larger organisations as well as the general public on all tree matters.
